Did Karl rip me off? I have been suspicious for so long but I can't prove it... have I been way off or do you see what he did too?
Unfortunately your intuition is bang on.
Yes I do sense he took advantage of your trust for profit. As far as recourse all I am seeing as an option to you is to go the legal route. I know it would be a large financial investment and that it would be difficult for you to arrange, but it would be worthwhile. More than anything, further victims need to be protected from his actions, his lack of moral integrity and his greed. He was a good man once, but he lost his way, and now he sees people as commodities, love as something to use to get what he wants, and everything as his. It's just not right.
The money is never as important as the violation of trust. You can never get that back... but maybe you can help someone else to protect themselves. Good luck to you!
