When will we be married? It's been 3 years of this and Steve says he wants to but never does anything about it. When will he propose?
From what I am picking up Steve has no intention of getting married. I sense he knows it is something you want very much. He is telling you he wants to be married, and talking to you about your future as a married couple, because he wants you to stay with him and not leave. It is not that he does not love you, but he seems to be very jaded by marriage, and not believe that it is a healthy or necessary part of a relationship. He has failed marriages in his past (2?) and he is not anxious to repeat those mistakes. From what I am picking up hun, he will continue his passive resistance approach so that he doesn't lose you, but he is not ready, nor does it appear he will be anytime soon, to commit to the step of marriage. He loves you very much, but that is just not a step he is willing to take.

I have been very close friends with a woman for 10 months now. We have always avoided romance but an unspoken awareness was always there. We shared, from the beginning, very deep and intimate things about ourselves...things we have never told another. She has recently met a man and was immediately overwhelmed by him. She has severely reduced the time we spent communicating. We are both afraid of losing our friendship. I know losing her in my life will be very difficult. How do you see our relationship for the future?
I sense her new man was insecure about her friendship with you and became jealous. She pulled away from you to preserve the relationship with him and not risk rocking the boat. She cares about you and does not want to lose you as a friend, however she also is quite determined to make the relationship with her new man work and she knows that right now, he is not comfortable with her spending time with you and having you in her life as before. I do sense that he has somewhat of a controlling and posessive energy, and that her role in your life, her involvement with you, will continue to be reduced, until their relationship ends. I do feel however that you will be able to heal and overcome the damage done, once she is back to making her own choices and doing what is best for her.
