Now sweetie I sense he has strong feelings for you as well, and is taking it very slow. He does not want to hurt you, and he sometimes is anxious about losing the friendship if the relationship does not work out. Sometimes these anxieties and this nervousness, causes him to send mixed signals, seem as though he is pulling away, but it is very much wrapped up with his anxieties and the fact that he is unsure of how to do this, how to explore his and your feelings "safely", without hurting you, getting hurt himself etc.
