The Devan Waite Tarot

The Rider Waite Tarot, arguably one of the most common and well known Tarot decks, has always had a special place in my heart. While it is obviously not the most beautiful, creative or insightful deck I have used to date, it has a certain appeal, rooted in past experiences, nostalgia and respect for my beginnings. Much like a first love, the Rider Waite imagery has a charm and intrigue that remains an integral part of my affection for Tarot.

The imagery has been recolored and revamped in many ways, improved upon and influenced by personal tastes and interests. Initially I coloured these images intending to use them as ecards for this site, but I have chosen instead to let them exist on their own. My own take on the deck is very much like that awe inspiring deck I had purchased at the books tore when I was young. The images themselves are the same, but coloured instead with the vibrant gradients and exciting colours photoshop has to offer.
