My Psychic AbilitiesPeople often ask me how I realized I had Psychic ability, and what I did to develop my senses. I can't say that I ever did or realized anything in particular; because I didn't. Psychic ability has been a part of my consciousness since I can remember. As a child Psychic sense was an active part of my thought process and self awareness. I was able to sense the emotions of those around me and feel their pain and concerns very clearly. Like the sense of sight or smell, it was always a part of the information that influenced my decisions. I didn't realize until I was in middle school, that it was not a standard part of everyone's life. I was surprised to find that it was often dismissed, ignored, and rarely encouraged. I made few attempts to share that aspect of myself with others. The exception to that of course was my home: a loving place where diversity, awareness, reflection and faith were highly encouraged. I was never pushed into anything, but when I opened up about things I was noticing, feeling and seeing, I was always supported and encouraged to follow my path and do as I believe. My mother was a Psychic reader and Spiritual healer but did nothing to impose her beliefs on me. She made sure that I had the freedom to find my own purpose and share it with the world as I saw fit. My Psychic ability intensified with time; like a muscle, the more I used it, the stronger and more focused it became. As a teenager I began experimenting with Tarot and methods of divination; I found that the feelings and senses I was having could be productive and helpful. I could perceive reasoning and understanding of circumstances and the way they may change and move with time and influences. As I became comfortable with my craft I shared with my mother my progress and experiences; she was ecstatic. She opened my eyes to the world of good and positive change I could create with my abilities if I had faith in myself and reached out to people in need of guidance. I found in time that I began receiving messages and instincts that were particular to each situation, giving a more precise and personal meaning to the cards before me and the guidance they offered to the question at hand. I began reading professionally years later, offering readings from my home as my mother had for decades. I yearned to reach a broader range of people so I began working in telephone and online environments. With experience came a more profound connection with my spirit guides, visions and instincts flowed through me intensely and I began to find that my use of Tarot cards was becoming more of a hinderance. I now read mostly from sheer clairvoyance and intuition, using Tarot and other methods of divination mainly when requested by clients. I believe that Psychic intuition is something everyone possesses. As with artistic, athletic and other abilities or tendencies, some individuals are gifted and encouraged in this area, but everyone possesses a basic ability that they can develop and use in their daily lives. As with any skills potential and environment play a huge role in the abilities a person develops, but very similar to a muscle, practice, regular use and a positive attitude makes one stronger and more in tune with their intuition. Developing one's Psychic ability is a very personal thing, so my advice is not to go out and buy a book on the topic or follow my or anyone else's advice. Finding an activity, thought process, visualization, setting or method of divination that allows you to access your intuition is the best way to improve and become more in tune with your abilities. There is no one right way to go about it and everyone's experiences and needs will be different. The only rule is to avoid frustration at all costs and not try to force it, because negative energy will only create blockage and difficulties on your journey.
