Psychic Candle Spells

Candles have long been linked with meditation, reflection and spells. A candle is made up of two main parts, (this is on a philosophical scale, outside of basics like wick, wax etc.) the earthly components of the candle itself, representing the physical being and limitations it brings, and the flame, representing spirituality, inspiration, passion and higher consciousness. This is why the candle has been part of mystical and spiritual rituals in so many different cultures for so very long. Symbolically, the flame, the spiritual element of the candle, releases the physical element of the candle from it's confines, in a sense liberating it. The burning of a candle is very much a metaphor of releasing ourselves from the boundaries and confines of physical being, through spiritual enlightenment.

There are many ways candles can be incorporated into your life that offer enrichment and value. Beyond glowing light, candles can provide a means of achieving inner peace, spiritual enlightenment and empowering motivational and empowering thought. The common use of candles in spells is case in point, and in time many spells have come to revolve almost entirely around candles.

The power in a spell is very much rooted in the person who is performing it, as energy and potential is so easily influenced by belief, will, desire and faith. There are many ways that you can create and perform candle spells and rituals that hold the power to shape and change the direction of your life, and that power lies within you right now! All you need to do is believe in yourself and begin experimenting.

The core essence of a good spell is faith, followed by intent. Spells meant to hurt or cause pain are likely to do absolutely nothing, while possibly bringing negative energy in your life such as fear, paranoia and bitterness. They are best stayed away from entirely. Think of candle spells as the following: An invitation card designed to bring the emotion or element of your choice into your life.

Now you can create and go with your own sense of what is right for you. This is usually most productive, because when a spell is prompted by a spiritual sense, it has all the more purpose, but there are many already established and commonly accepted ways of incorporating candle spells into your life. These are a few that I use sometimes and they can give you some ideas as to how to adapt of create your own methods.

For Love between two people Burn a thick red candle with two smaller white ones (representing the individuals) on either side. Light the red one first followed by one white, then the other. When lighting each white candle focus on the person it represents and say out loud or think to yourself "This light awakens the love in you". This spell can help individuals overcome commitment issues, fear of abandonment and shyness. Let the candles burn until the two white candles go out naturally. The red candle will burn on, signifying a love that outlives the confines of physical being.

For Guidance and Spiritual Enlightenment Burn a large white pillar candle that represents your being. When lighting it say out loud or think to yourself "This light awakens guidance and higher consciousness". You may also wish to focus on the light of the candle and meditate in it's presence to enhance the effect. Allow this candle to burn until it is extinguished naturally.

For Confidence and Empowerment Burn a small black or dark colored candle that represents your negative feelings about yourself, the things you feel bad about and wish you could change, and your fears and reservations about the perceptions others have of you. When lighting the candle say out loud or think to yourself "This light awakens love for my being.". As the dark candle wanes the light becomes the focus. This spell can help individuals with low self esteem overlook and accept the negativities they feel about themselves (which are usually confined to the earthly aspects of existence), and focus on the positive aspects of their being.
